A mystery shopper is a person who visits a store or service as a regular customer and evaluates the experience. They evaluate aspects such as customer service and quality, and provide feedback to companies to help them improve their services.

This survey is an on-site survey to help stores and facilities as a whole provide better service to foreign tourists and other visitors. The survey will examine how stores are dealing with language barriers and cultural differences.

Period: January 8 - 24
Location: Shinjuku
Participants will shop at a designated store as a foreigner who speaks only English, and answer a questionnaire.
Japanese language skills are not required and a purchase must be made at the store.

You will meet at Shinjuku Station, where we will provide an overview of the task. After that, you’ll head to the designated stores to shop. Once you’ve finished shopping, you’ll return and complete a brief questionnaire.
